Never forget to say "Thank you"

My daughter recently went for an ultrasound to track how her new pregnancy is coming along. The nurse wasn't reassuring at all about what she thought she saw, and that prompted a whole lot of praying about it. I got the men in my Bible Study Fellowship praying with me, and something deep down inside is absolutely, positively, with ZERO doubt, certain that this baby is going to be all right. I have no proof, I just KNOW somehow that God is going to do something mighty here.

I've been petitioning him, bugging him, quoting scripture to him, reminding him, and begging him that this baby will be perfect. I know I've been a major pest to God, but some things just demand the full court press, up all night, banging on his door to get his attention, reminding him of his promises. Hey he said them, not me. If he's going to make a promise, I'm holding him to it.

So my daughter went for a follow-up MRI today and the news is much much better. Did our amazing, holy God do that? Did the original radiologist screw up? I don't know, I've just been feeling a huge sense of relief.

It occurred to me... you know what I didn't do? I didn't take time to get out somewhere all alone and thank God. I'm so quick to jump down his throat when I want something... why can't I be so quick to thank him?

So, dear Father ... Adonai ... El Shaddai ... thank you for putting up with me, and thank you for my healthy, strong grandbaby.
