What did I learn from him? Man... decades ago it was basic economics. Then how to leave hubris at home. How to use humor to make a point. Learned to listen to people with different opinions, seeing them as people too, not obstacles. Learned that you can overlook just about any wrong, if you really try. Learned that everyone hurts, treat them kindly. That I have TWO ears and ONE mouth. That life is far, far too short.
Been listening to him since the late 1980’s. RIP
A man that loved the USA, sure, he was not perfect but who is/was. Happy that President Trump honored him when he did. RIP, sir.
Liberal left is having a ball I would wager.
Really liked to listen to Rush, but not often
He was 99% right most of the time.
NRA Lifetime Benefactor Member.
Prayers asked for his family, Cancer sucks
He was going right up until the end, an unapologetic conservative who greatly angered those who sought to weaken America. They are still there.
RIP
RIH Rush.
You are naughty, HeDog.
I thought RIH meant Rest In Honor. But that is just how my mind works.
Rest in honor or heaven.
Bleh. Let me be the first: The guy was a blowhard.
I disliked him greatly.
I guess if you think Reagan was a great "Conservative" you'd think Rush was too.
Both were full of it.

I liked him at first but it got pretty repetitive. I enjoyed his countdown of the days til Clinton was gone but after that I pretty much lost interest. I probably haven't heard him a couple of dozen times in the last twenty years. Never really knew if he was joking or was he really that full of himself.
I agree, he was a blowhard. Still I listened to the show. But in the last 10 years, he might have 15 minutes of brilliant commentary, but then he spent the next hour talking about himself. That incessant narcissism got old. He would get off on the start of a 20 minute rant about how brilliant he was, and about how he had just been quoted on CNN, I turned the radio off.
I am a Libertarian/Conservative and I think pot should be legal. Having spent 20 years hearing Rush talking about how all the "dopers" need to be in jail, I was surprised to find he was an Oxycodone addict and was sending his maid out to get him loads of illegal Percocets. He committed all kinds of Federal drug crimes.
Of course, with his political connections and his wealth Rush didn't go to jail like some poor black kid from Atlanta would have, or some poor hillbilly from the NC mountains would. He had to pay a fine and stay off the air for a month for "rehab."
Rush looked pretty hypocritical in that event.
Rush was the best at what he did. His parodies were great. He kept the show interesting.
Most all of the talk radio people, not just Rush.get on the air and grumble, whine, preach to the chorus, tell us how wonderful they are and get absolutely zero done and it gets old fast.Talk is cheap.
Was kind of struck on himself wasn't he.
I liked him. Been listening since the beginning, really. Since the Clinton years and the TV show. Made my days at work go faster. And the liberals hated him. That's a fun thing!
There were some fantastic parodies. Million man math made easy was a good one.
No, he really wasn't. If you really listened to what he said you discovered that he was a truly humble man. Yes, he came across with a lot of bluster, but that was a part of the act.
He'll be sorely missed.
Allen, I agree that pot should be legal. None of the side effects like alcohol, and doesn't have to be smoked. Could greatly help many folks, and like legal drugs could be abused i guess.
Didn't Rush come out on air and admit to his use?
My Dad got tied up bad in prescription pills after several failed back surgeries in the early 90's. Finally lost his job in 2001 and spent the next 11 years trying to find a way to get more pills. Passed away in 2012.
Anybody who can leave them gets a bit of respect from me.
RIP Rush
If you say you are a conservative, you need to pass your thoughts to CNN or MSNBC, you could get air time and your 15 minutes.
