I have a Glock 17 (9mm) Gen 2. I was cleaning it yesterday and after it was assembled back together I noticed that when the slide is locked open, the barrel has some slop forward/aft. Rattles a bit. I do not recall this being this way but I never looked either. Is this normal?

Its a Glock, so........ Don
Yes.
Perfectly normal. With the slide locked back, the recoil spring is compressed which leaves the breech unlocked and the barrel able to move- abet slightly.
Normal.
Thanks guys!
It's defective and I will happily take it off your hands for you.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Just rename it slop glock
