Mark et al, I hope you don't mind me posting this here. The move by the Biden admin could have adverse effects on the gun industry. As the article points out, removal of the Fair Access Rule can again enable those in office opposed to guns, to end-around gun control by forcing banks to cease doing business with gun sellers and buyers.

I'm honestly not sure how to comment on this without it becoming political so let me just say that I grow increasingly weary of all this new bull puckey.
An opportunity is about to happen to the positive. Although the banks are controlled , not all monies or a new institution by private could be.
I wonder if crypto currency is a solution the the draconian policies that are surely forthcoming?

We saw what was happening before. Chase, I believe started the wave. If others follow we will need a backup plan. There are ways to avoid being tracked I won't get into here.

I truly think cash will be phased out soon all by cards or computers . that way nothing slips thru the cracks they will write laws to make it easy to force people to give up any pass words and or phantom accounts . all transactions will be taxed bottom line

Thanks Mark, I think the subject that Randy posted is not political, per sea, but obviously is, due to the political climate. I do think that it should remain non-political, and here, due to the facts, since it could possibly affect all of us, and hope that it remains that way. There have too many previous posts in the past, that have ended up locked because of opinions..Please, let's try and keep this one to the facts. I am very interested in my future as a gun owner, I've already lost one boat load, and can't really afford another one....
I suppose it comes down to your purpose in the forums: is it sufficient to simply have members read and acknowledge your cut and paste articles? or do you want to post your own thoughtful subject matter in the appropriate forum for members to engage in active participation? Apparently, gaining the maximum amount of attention in GD is sufficient.
That's the way that the OP wants it, and as I stated, I will accommodate.
I think there is plenty non-political to discuss. As I noted above, countermeasures, for example. Ideas about what to do. The last thing I want is more pissing and moaning about the current administration. Are there gun friendly banks that won't succumb to political pressure?

I haven't made a secret of the fact that I dislike cut and paste articles. We had a self proclaimed firearms "expert" in the forums whose expertise consisted of cut and paste articles, YouTube videos, and posting photos of other peoples firearms. That doesn't gain much traction with me.
In the future, members will do much better with their personal appeals when their content consists of a well thought-out post, and not a link to an article from a website.
What does one use to barter for guns? Seems like a tough proposition. Alcohol maybe?

I recall back in 2009 or 2010 there was a startup company whose intent was to compete with PayPal called Gpal or Gunpal. They've since gone under, but with renewed pressure I can imagine a company stepping up to fill the need. If I recall correctly Gpal's problem was underwriting, so insuring the transaction company that fills the industry need is also going to be a critical point.

Bartering will be for everything possible. Work will make a comeback from today's lazy society to get something without computer card money.

The problem is those aren't things that are easily exchanged for internet purchases. Effectively dooming online sales if that is what is required.

For internet sales all we have to do is change the names of what we are buying and selling. Come up with a code and do everything on the sly. I say sly but crap! Only thing sly about having to go to these extremes is what we are being hit with!

Merchants who accept cards for payment, must submit an MCC, or Merchant Category Code to the credit card companies. It describes the types of merchandise/services that they offer, so it would be pretty hard to get around that. It could get to the point that you couldn't even buy flowers from certain sporting goods stores if they offered them.
This is bad news.
As far as crypto currency is concerned I think its going to get shut down soon.
I agree Sam06. I can't help but think that there will be regulations come about that will hamper if not eliminate it's use. I like to think that paper money won't disappear but as large bills have (I once held a $10K bill as a little boy) but who knows.
But, but this was all tinfoil just a few years ago? Right? Re-education camps may be next to be considered hrrrr... the new normal?
