Just received a Remington 1100 Sporting .410. The little jewel is in the box and has never been assembled. There is no barrel date marking so is there any way to date from the s/n?? The prefix is RS and there is a Y at the end of the number. Can you apply the barrel code to the serial number if there is no barrel marking?? Thank you!!

I don't know Ricci but it should have an "H" suffix on the SSN if its a 3" 410 gun.
I got this online. You can get close with the letter prefix.
Model 1100 LETTER PREFIX
1963 TO APPROX. 1968: NO SERIAL NUMBER PREFIX
1968 TO PRESENT: LETTERS USED (IN SEQUENCE)
L-68, M-74, N-78, P-85, R-90
Thanks man.
I did some digging and found a couple of posts stating that you can date it from the receiver serial number, but they were just random forum posts, no actual reference material. I also found this, "On 8/9/99, stopped stamping the barrels with the date code. They continued to mark the date code on the end flap of the shipping box. They resumed stamping the date code on the barrel on 10/1/01."
Thank you.
No problemo dude.
I had the dogs in the truck today and a pan handler came up to the window. He got a big sloppy lick right in the face for his tip.
