Asked about shipment time for a 550C. I was told 4-5 weeks on the press and 20 weeks for 9mm dies. The guy said they were making and shipping them everyday and if you want one you should get it ordered because they think it will get worse before better.

Do you have to use Dillon dies? I found a new set of Hornaday 9mm dies at an LGS for $49.
You can use other dies. I have used RCBS, hornaday, lee, etc. They all work for me
I've got a 550 and run RCBS dies in it just fine. I load 40, 223, and 9mm without a hiccup.
Don't you have to put the lock ring on the bottom of the die Steve?
You can use other dies with the Dillon. The only difference is the Dillon dies are more beveled on the bottom to help line up the brass if it's just a little out of line and you can take the Dillon dies apart to clean them without unscrewing them.
Nope. Just the one on top. 😋
I tried them on my 550, and I couldn't get a full ring on the die. Called Dillon, and they said that was not uncommon, but it would be fine. I just ordered Dillon dies..
Dillon is beating all their promise dates by weeks. Which is far better than promising and failing to hit the date.
Great company.
