Kimber 1911

Hi Everyone:
I'm looking at purchasing a Kimber Ultra CDP in 45acp. I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions on this gun, good or bad. I already have a Colt Government 1911 in the same caliber. How does these two compare?
Also, I saw these laser grips on a Kimber Custom CDP listed on Gunbroker recently. Does anyone know anything about these?
Thanks

Kimbers are very good guns and have carried a hefty price tag too. Some parts are MIM which in itself is o.k. but Kimber went through a period were the mim parts lacked quality and failed. This really hurt their reputation. I have been told the quality control issues are back on track and prices of kimbers have come down.
CT lasers are everywhere. I found them to be worth the money in both quality and performance.
Me?? My EDC is a Kimber SCU 3" in .45ACP
I have a Pro CDP in .45 ACP and love it! Tried the laser grips but didn’t like the looks and were not great in daylight. Only ran a few hundred rounds through it but it always went bang when asked to. Only thing I don’t like is having to use a paper clip wire to disassemble.
