Building an indoor shooting simulator

I am seriously Considering building my own indoor shooting simulator. 


Here’s what I think I need:


High Quality Projector >3,000 lumens

A “laser bullet” & trigger reset widget

Software


Looks like it will be over $4,000 and could easily hit $8,000. I think a realistic budget is 5K for a well rounded set up.


Commercial units start at $8,000 and run up to $30k 


Being as I have never owned a gun that expensive, i am having a hard time making the leap.


Any thoughts?

    you get what you pay for. Go with the 30k model.

    We have a local shop that has a pretty cool system, very realistic and excellent to diagnose shooting issues like pulling jerking etc.

    Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

    Here is the set up I am looking at- keep in mind, still need a projector. And the conversions for the guns.

    There are a number of USPSA type stages, all 8 USPSA steel challenge stages, several that can be used with multiple shooters (games), law enforcement type shoot/no-shoot scenarios and some that are just shooting games.


    It just seems expensive!

    I'd have to check to see what system they use but it is C&S shooting sports in North Charleston SC

    From their web site

    The Meggitt simulator is a theater style training system that uses wireless, computer monitored guns that have the feel and recoil of a gun using live ammunition. With over 500 scenarios, the program offers many different situations including real life training, target shooting, and games.

    The simulator uses real guns that are bluetooth connected to the simulation program. C02 charges are used in place of ammo to give you the feel of the guns recoil. The information from your shooting session will be transmitted to the computer for review after you finish with the scenario or game.
