Here is a link to the auction, with pictures:
Remington 1100 Special 12 Gauge, 26" Barrel, English Straight Grip Stock JM - Semi Auto Shotguns at GunBroker.com : 893567552
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/893567552
This shotgun is marked "SPECIAL," not "SPECIAL FIELD." I see Special Field 1100s on Gunbroker that have no Special or Special Field markings on the right side of the receiver. They are apparently identified by the 21" or 23" barrels.
Anyhow, this "SPECIAL" has a 26" barrel and a SKEET choked Rem-Choke.
Is the 26" barrel possibly original? Or is it for certain a replacement?
Is the gun a "Special Field" or something else?
Thanks in advance.

I believe that is the early version of the Special Field. They just marked them Special and quit in 1991 I believe. 21" barrel was the norm but could be factory but ?
