This popped up on my local FB page.....its $150 for 4 yards of topsoil. What does it say about me as a woman that I need to buy some of this dirt? I know NOTHING about dirt.....but looking at this picture made me say "Thats some good lookin' dirt" and I'm actually thinking out where I'm going to have it dropped off. If I get any nuttier I'm going to have to get myself a "caregiver" to watch over me.
I might need to tell Larry I'm getting some dirt. I don't know if it will surprise him or not??? We will see.

Without dirt we would all die
Don
boy I could use that in my backyard to level it out. Will you deliver it in your trailer?
My wife took a load of topsoil like that and had the guy dump it in our canoe in the back yard and made a flower bed out of it. She put all the kinds of plants that hummingbirds like in it so now we sit in our tv room and look out the window and watch all the hummingbirds. You can do it kasey.
( LOL ) what a bargain think how long it took to nature to make that truck load of dirt to be sold . besides the sellers labor ,gas, and equipment cost to get it to you .. obvious you have a plan .
use to be fee dirt / back fill was common all around us but I can not remember the last time I saw a add or sign for free dirt
our dirt mound back stop was made bigger because because a friend of my youngest son who comes by to shoot with us works for a large contractor and several years ago they needed a place to dump the site work dirt . his buddy got ? not sure how many dump truck loads and we ended up with about 4 or 5 . but always on the watch for more
See if you have a neighbor who farms; you may be able to get free advice.
Topsoil is not the same thing as dirt. Topsoil is what you need if you want a lawn or crops; dirt, not so much.

Top soil always brings a premium most of the time at least 2x the price of common dirt then there's fill dirt normally mostly clay , dirt and rocks around here . and last have to watch for "back fill " which may be building debris like chunks of concrete and blocks bricks mixed in , top soil more rich in nutrients best for growing and should not have any large rocks ( if any )
looks like a good load you bought thought
Just think about it. If you had a couple thousand loads of that dirt, you would have a farm.
I mean . . . you know . . . if you had some land you could put it on.
Nice looking dirt to get the garden started.
That's some good dirt for Bama. I could use that load to fill in yard holes. What would shipping be and would USPS get it to me in time?
that inner child wants out, time to round up the grandkids and make some mud pies to sell on aution side, hide a bullet in each one and you might make enough for a college fund........
You could scrape my entire property and not get that much good soil.
You are just excited because it isn't clay. 😁
37.50 per yard? That best be some good dirt.

And drink it from a fountain

I ended up getting two loads. He wasn't able to spread it, but he did put one load in my back yard in little piles that I can deal with. The other load was dumped in my pasture for me to figure out what I'm doing with it. I might get him to come back and put some in the front under the oak trees......NOTHING lives under oaks and it would be nice to give that area a little spark of hope. Right now its purple clover type weed looking grass growing everywhere out there and some patches where the dogs have made trails.
I have a canoe!!! I might just do this!!!!
It never appeared to amaze me that if you wanted dirt "hauled off" you were charged for it. And if you wanted to have dirt "brought in" you were also charged for it😉
Around here, if you would like free dirt, you call up the county roads Dept, and asked to be placed on a list.
In the summer, when they're out scraping ditches, they'll deliver to your property, if they're close, and dump in a pile.
If not close, you wait on the list.
Nice looking dirte.
A great way to bring invasive weed seeds into your yard or garden spot, I did it once before and of all people I should've known better.......never again ☹️

Stop and think what might be in the DOT dirt and you might not want it.
Don't care what's in the dirte. Round up kills a lot of stuff.
Let it sit in the pile for a year, to compost all the grass and weeds in it.
Then she who shall be obeyed does the close in weeding, the tiller does the rows.
Whoo hoo! Loads of dirte!
This dirt came from a cow pasture. I didn't see any sticks or rocks so far. I only messed with a tiny bit of it so far, but I think its going to be a good batch for the yard.
I'd be throwing a tape measure on that load cause it don't really look like 4 yds to me.
Oh Kasey... Another hobby?😉
Have your seller do a before/after weight check. Looks like that load may be short.
4 yds. of DRY topsoil weighs about 2000 lbs.
He made two trips.....I think his advertised price is not what this truck holds, but he has another larger one that is busy with a gravel job this week. It turned out to be two guys I know going in business together. One is a police officer and the other has a farm. They are combining their equipment and doing things like clearing land, delivering gravel and such. They are both great guys...so I hope their business takes off for them.
