No WI-FI ... FM Radio was invented in 1933.

It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

500$ in 1948 would be how much today. Still a nice, well built piece of furniture. And they sounded great.

Yep, some pretty good coin in 1948. Cool piece of equipment though.
Never saw one like that, but looks like pretty high end for an entertainment center of that era.
Memories of cutting edge HiFi (High Fidelity) sound! My families first TV was an Admiral B&W with a screen of about 20" from memory. It was a big piece of furniture! Late 1950's and it set my dad back a lot of $$ back then.
Lasted up until the "great pillow fight" of 1967 when my younger brother threw a pillow at my sister. Missed her by a mile but hit the cat lamp atop the old Admiral. The heavy lamp took the end right off the monster picture tube! 😕
A large percentage of TV sets at that time came like that but that is a quite a bit fancier than any I can recall. That's about when we got ours & it did have a cabinet & the radio, TV & record player. That pretty much went out by the middle 50s when we got the giant 16" screens.
