RIP Roger Mudd

Memories of "Roger Mudd on Capital Hill" still ring in my ears from the CBS Evening News back in the day. I did like Roger and his reporting skills very much. IMO, he would have been the BETTER replacement of Walter Cronkite than Dan Rather but the powers that be are never what we want them to be.
He lived a long life and wandered through a lot of history first hand. RIP to a man who did an honest job of reporting the news to an America that was a much different place.

The old guard journalist, those who honed their craft during WW2 and Korea , were a different breed . They saw their job as reporting the facts , so people could be informed and make up their own minds . Opinions were clearly labeled as such .Sadly this is a trait all too lacking in the modern news world .All must now bow to the altar of wokeness
Another funeral I approve of.
RIP
