The Dublin Whiskey Fire took place on the 18th of June, 1875 in the Liberties area of Dublin City.
It lasted a single night but killed 13 people, and resulted in €6 million worth of damage in whiskey alone (adjusted for inflation).
None of the fatalities suffered during the fire were due to smoke inhalation, burns, or any other form of direct contact with the fire itself, but from alcohol poisoning after drinking from the 6-inch (15.24 cm) deep river of whiskey that is said to have flowed for at least 1km.

Wouldn't the whiskey river have been on fire, too?
Anyway, if ya gotta go, I suppose there are worse ways.
I will be drinking Weds with my Dublin friend.
My wife's grandparents are from Longford Ireland. Been over there 7 or 8 times. Very interesting and fun country to visit.
We were set to go last year...but China ruined it...😕
