Scooter. New to me. I figure anyone as old as I am ought to do something foolish once in a while. So I did. This was Doc's bike. As you may know, Doc passed on and his lovely bride offered to sell me his classic Harley. So, I bought it.
Yes, that is the actual mileage. Just under 18,000 miles on a 41-year-old motorcycle.
Just got the insurance on it paid. Wish me luck!

Very cool.
I like the kick starter.
Outstanding! I see it's already marked its territory. 🤣
Now you have to post a lot of pics of very fine smith revolvers! Doc lives on.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
That news warms my heart. Be careful on that bike, David.
Nice, now let's RIDE!😎
Beautiful bike! Gotta love a good old Harley.
Yes! The legend lives on.
I don't know if Nunn would pony up the bucks for a personalized plate, but this seems appropriate:
Very cool David......be careful and enjoy !
Nunn,
That is just too cool, congratulations.

Wow! That is just Fantastic! looks a little like mine....
Fitting tribute to a fine member . Good to know it has a good home . Like as been said ,be very careful out there . Started riding when I was 14 , hung it up a few years ago when the arthritis got too bad . Ken, the beemer was my dream bike . Loved riding the parkway and roads in your neck of the woods . Camped out on the bike up your way and into Virginia a few times
NICE bike! Just wear a helmet. I never did, but I was dumb. And it is not the law here.
I have put over 100,000 miles on motorcycles and never got hurt. In 1992 I was riding my '85 Honda VT-700 and had a deer run out in front of me at 60 mph. Missed it by inches. Went home, sold the bike and never got on one again.
I hope it gives you a lot of enjoyment. Doc would be happy; he was a good man.
Very cool Nunn. Be safe. RIP Doc.
Congratulations, Doc would be pleased to know you’re looking after his bike. What year is it? My shovel is an 82 Low Rider. Careful with that kicker!
You should have stopped by.
Nice
Sweet ride, David. See you in Sturgis August 6th.
Enjoy and be safe!
nice offer and a nice bike congrtas Dave
be safe
RIP Doc you are missed
As has been said be careful, that doesn’t have anti locks. Seems more people trying to kill me on a bike now too - drunk, distracted, texting and now high! View every one as a threat until you get back in the grove! Where a helmet!
I have none of Doc's guns. Mrs. Doc says the ones she wants to dispose of, she will consign to an old friend of Doc's who is in the auction business. She is a sweet lady, and losing Doc has been hard on her. It was pancreatic cancer, and it was far advanced when it was found, so she had only a few months to be with Doc from diagnosis to his death.
Say a prayer or hold a kind thought for this very nice lady.
Had I been by myself, I might have even crashed on your couch overnight. But I had Bry with me, Dawnie's idea and insistence, and I needed to get him back for school and what not. Sorry...

Done & Done.
It's a 1978 FXE. 80 cubic inches. Very heavy and top-heavy, and it's been a LONG time since I tried to ride one. It doesn't respond well to gentle handling. I have to horse it around curves. It'll take some getting used to. I'll be careful and stay out of traffic for a while.
My beemer is an '86. We might oughta take a spin one day Nunn.
That's pretty awesome, Nunn! Stay safe out there. I only knew Doc as Saxon Pig. Very sorry to learn of his passing.
4 speed? Going one tooth bigger on the trans sprocket will give you much better cruising speed on the highway. PM me if ya have any Shovelhead questions. I’ll be happy to answer all I can.
