He ended up scoring 85.5 and splitting 2nd in the first round.

Update

Final, after round #2, he ended up splitting 3rd hole and won his first PRCA ( Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) check for $713.00.

This put him 28th in Permit holder Bullrider standings.

Ain't no way. Not enough money in the world. Best thing to do with that thing is cook him.

Not that I would know, but that looked like some very skillful riding.

    Thanks guys.

Ricci, he stayed square even with the Bulls spin going away from his hand.

He rode him for about all the points he could.

Two ifs could have potentially gotten him a couple more points

    (1) if the bull would have started a little harder, he came out a little flat.

    (2) if he would have spurred the hell out of him with his outside side leg during the spin, this is always chancy on a strong bull, but judges will pay you a little extra for it.

This was his first cover on a PRCA bull.

He is only a permit holder, and has had poor luck getting into the bigger shows.

Hoping to post more successes in the future, but I'll post the buckoffs too.

That kid's got some upper body strength! His butt barely moved off that bulls back.

He is pretty stout, but has reflexes like a damn cat.

I tease him and call him "Tarzan", nothing but muscle and hair.

    Cool.

I see he is from Idaho, I also see in results he participated in 2 rodeos recently here in ND, is he going to school up here or what brings him to ND?

I could only wish he was going to college up there or anywhere.

He had several scholarship offers from some good schools in Montana and Texas, but hard headed little * said Nope.

He is chasing the PRCA rodeos that he can get into. The last as you know was in Bismarck, weekend before he was in Valley City and got bucked off.

He got drawn out of Redmond Oregon next weekend and his next entry attempts will be Red Bluff in California, and Yuma after that.

I think he is going to have to go south to Texas, Okla, LA,to hit more rodeos here shortly.

As a permit holder, he is going to have to put a lot of miles on to "pay his dues" before he is a card holder and then he will get into rodeos more consistently, but that will be next season. His goal for this year is to make it to the Permit holders top 15 .
