On the note of vaccine side affects....

I got my first shot of the shingrix vaccine last week at my annual physical..... holy mackerel, woke up the next day and felt like I had been given the flu, and beaten like a pinata...Luckily as the day went on, it got better, but my arm still has a swollen spot the size of a golf ball 4 days later. Can't wait for the second shot....

Well, as long as the pain and swelling lasts less than 3 weeks, it's not as bad as having shingles. I wouldn't get the vaccine but I wouldn't want to get shingles AGAIN either so don't know what to suggest.

I am not a doctor, but I am told this by one who is...Vaccines work by activating your immune system. Some people's immune system reacts more strongly than others. If you feel exhausted and sickly after a shot, you are among that group - for that vaccine at least. You may or may not react like that for other vaccines. Vaccines do not use live pathogens, so no vaccine can give you the disease it is designed to prevent. You might still get that disease if you contracted it just before or after you got the shot and before your system adjusts - but it wasn't the shot that caused it.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

I am not a fan of most vaccines. I have never had a flu shot.

My mother was one of the toughest women I ever met. I didn't think there was any bug that could knock Mom down and out like shingles did. Not only knocked her down and out but kept her that way for months. You never saw anyone sprint to get the shingles vaccine like I did. I was a total coward!!
