My Katie dog passed early this morning

We have been expecting it and yesterday we decided she would go to the vet this morning but between 5 and 6 am this morning she passed on her own... Had her since she was a pup, I got her at the local convenience store parking lot, her and the rest of the litter along with the mother dog were in the trunk of a tweakers car with a sign "Free puppies" I almost took then all I felt so bad for them but we already had several dogs. The mother was a pit bull and they said the father was a blue heeler so we decided she was a "Peeler" Was a great dog for about 14 years...

She looks like such a sweet dog. I'm so sorry.
Sorry for the loss of your furry family member! Sounds like she had a great life after you found her!
If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!
I feel your pain. sorry for the loss.
So sorry for your loss, it hurts.
I know the feeling. Condolences.
Sorry for your loss
Sorry to learn this sad news.
14 years of reciprocal love, God Bless you for giving her a good stable home.
I love dogs. People, meh.
Dogs are truly family, losing one really hurts. You saved her and gave her the best of homes. Damn, it’s getting dusty in here.
We know when they enter our lives that we will have to say goodbye. We still let them in our hearts and cherish the time we have. Chris Stapleton has a new song out that breaks me every time I hear it, Maggie's Song:

so sorry for the loss they take with them a piece of out heart but while here they with us provided countless time unconditional love for us , they will always be with us in memory
we lost Wendy just a couple days ago after 12 years and a long line of loved companions before her if no other story's are true i at least hope the rainbow bridge is .
Thank all of you folks for the kind words and thoughts. I still have her two brothers here with us and will not be surprised if a new puppy happens in the future. The pain of losing them is tough, but as mentioned by several of you the unconditional love they give us the best part of having animals in the family.
Thanks again to you all,
Bret (Ruger4me)
That sort of loss cuts harder than you expect. I feel your pain and my prayers are with you.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
I am so sorry for your loss. You can tell from her picture, she is a sweet heart.------------Ray
Been there. Just remember you took her in and you both had 14 good years, She wouldn’t had a a chance without you.
A very somber, sad start to your day Bret and I really feel your pain. It is good you have your other furry friends with you to help take away some of the sting from your loss. My last two dogs that passed also did so on their own without the help from our vet. Both had cancer issues and were on the upside of their breeds age limits. Each actually had very good days just prior to the day of passing. Both in our bedroom during a nights sleep about a year apart from one another.
I hope your grief soon passes and another comes along to fill the void your Katie has left in your heart.
Heaven has a place for dogs. RIP.
I'm sad for you to lose your good friend. I generally don't mind it when people other than closest relatives die, but when a dog completely unknown to me dies ... well 😪. Some people would say I have my priorities wrong. I wouldn't care if those people died, but I hope their dog is OK.
tough deal to go thru......but out there somewhere is another good buddy to meet you and you both will know when it is right...
spasmcreeksrun 100% correct!
So sorry 😪
RIP
You need to hold your head high and smile. To take an ill cared for pup and give it a 14 year slice of well cared for heaven is not a cause for sorrow, it is a reason for celebration!!
Sorry to hear.
My best advise id to get another dog asap. They will help you get over the loss. I know that sounds cold but when one of mine gets cancer I get a puppy and let them train the pup. When I have to put them down its like the pup is an extension of the older dog.
Sorry to hear the sad news.
It is never easy.
