I have a bell hanging on the door knob on our back door. When Lola has to go potty, she goes to the door and dings the bell once. Just one ding. Than she sits down and waits for me. She is very polite!
So this morning Lola runs to the door and it sounded like this: DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING!! It sounded like she went full auto!! I open the door and she makes about three steps and barfs a bunch of grass on the back porch.
We both know barfed up grass on Momma's clean floors never has a positive outcome!! 😁😁😁 We also both know Momma is scary when she is mad about something so Lola kept both of us out of trouble!!
Good girl!! Good Lola!!

I love to hear stories of people that have taken the time to train their pets properly. Most good animals are capable, they just need the help from their owner!
Dixie would come get one of us to let her out. If it wasn't fast enough she would bark 1 time.. that meant hurry hurry..
If you aren't very careful, Border Collies will train you, not the other way around. I have two spoiled BCs right now. On leash they are perfectly trained. Off leash, well, it is safe to say, listening to what Dad wants is not a high priority. 🤔
They do have enough sense to be cute while ignoring me.
Smart dog.
Good pupper. My labs both ring the bell to go out.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Cool story of a very smart dog!
I just ordered a telescoping aluminum ramp to get my two K-9's into and out of my enclosed pickup truck bed. Am hoping that the training will not take too long but I do have a lot of time to work with them. The Golden Retriever is a big fella weighing around 110 pounds and my PBGV around 40 pounds.
My truck has front bucket seats with a big console in the middle and two very small jump seats in the tiny extended cap. (Ford Ranger) The smaller dog is able to ride in the cab but the Golden.....no way!
Bella , the lab will come to where you are sitting and talk to you when she needs to go out . No accidents since she was a puppy .
One of the guys I worked with had a Lab that chased a skunk through the doggy door and killed it in the kitchen.Everybody in the house was un happy for a while.
pulsarnc, my 6 year old Border Collie is also named Bella.
Good girl. Hope her tummy soon settled.
