Yes he was. It takes a set to go into space now, imagine being the first to go.

I will be 61 on Sunday so I was almost 1 when Yuri took his ride.
My granddad had a small yellow dog named Uri and was questioned a lot about perhaps being a Soviet sympathizer. Come to find out and in Grandpa's own words, "Uri is short for URINE" and his dog had a never ending supply of it! 😮
