Gunsmithing......question/suggestions appreciated
One of the joys of getting old is the slow loss of hand strength, eye sight etc. My focus has been on upgrading my firearms to accommodate these inevitable issues.
Upgrading sights has been a good place to start but I have hit a little wall on one at the moment....I have a Kimber Ultra Carry in 9mm. 100% reliable, very accurate and fits my hands perfectly with an upgraded set of stocks. My old faithful gunsmith passed away a few years ago and the only other one in the area is competent but the last firearm I had him replace sights on looks like it got thrown across the parking lot...so there is no way I will use him again for this type of work ....other things have been fine....
I have a set of new Kimber night sights ready to go but no one to do the work.. I understand Kimber's sights can be a little difficult to replace so I need to find someone that will do the work....
So the question is: Does anyone know of a reliable gunsmith that can do this work....I am willing to send ship the slide and sights to the right person....Any suggestions ? Thanks for your assistance

I can't help you but it might help to know where you are so that maybe someone near you knows of a good gunsmith. It's not that big a job but it can be screwed up. As far as sights go, if you are replacing them due to ageing eyes may I suggest a set of TRUGLO TFX Pro Tritium and Fiber Optic Xtreme Handgun Sights. I have installed a lot of night sights from a lot of different manufactures and these are by far the easiest to see day or night. Good luck.
Thanks Ricci, I have actually have a couple set of those installed on some other firearms....I like them very much....I also have other Kimber products with their night sights and want to stick with those in for this project....
I live in Central MO
NOVACK in Parkersburg WV does excellent work.
