I have a model 54 Winchester that some where back in the day someone modified the bolt handle to that of a model 70 type.
Did a great job ,can hardly tell it,
I would like to upgrade the firing pin (its a 2 piece right now) , spring, spring retainer, and the bolt shroud to that of the pre64 model 70.
I have a pre war 70 that the shroud is flat on top and the firing pin and parts seem to fit ok, I do have about .070 FP protrusion when I have it installed but was wondering it I would have any problems making this swap?
just use the existing bolt body and extractor and extractor ring and change the other parts.
Maybe I would have to replace the trigger?

it will all need proper fitting for the bolt to operate correctly
