Thank you, Lowe's

Have to renovate my wood fence. Over 20 yo. Purchased all materials yesterday at Lowe's and they accepted my military discount. Saved $64.00. Thank you, Lowe's.

Main reason I shop there is my discount.

You get a 5% discount for using your Lowes card. Don

Tried to use my VIC card at Lowes...but you have to register online first...At Home Depot you only have to show your VA card...

Lowe's is the closest home improvement store to me though I also go to Menards. I use the vet discount and about 2 years ago you needed to show your drivers license and not just give your phone number. People were using a pals # to get the discount. Am I and 26 of our members the only honest ones left? 😂 BTW, my Lowe's also has reserved parking for vets. I don't know if that's all Lowe's though.

It's too late for me, save yourself.

I often forget the military discount at Lowes, but their cashiers always ask, It's added up over the years.

Lowes makes you sign up online and you then use your email. The sign up is aggregating. Home depot simply look at the my card, much simpler.

Wow, that was a lot of typos. Home depot simply looks at your card, much simpler.

The local Home Depot here only gives veteran discounts a few days around Veterans Day. The rest of the year notta! I actually hate shopping there.

We hit Home Dump only when Lowe’s doesn’t have what we’re looking for. HD stopped applying veterans discount to online purchases many years ago. Your vet discount at Lowe’s is tied directly to your account and applies to both online and in store purchases withot any hassle.

Many things we like at HD are online only or must be ordered through. the store. Looking at my renovation spreadsheet, we’ve spent $20k+ at Lowe’s in the past18 months compared to$2300 at the dump.

    Lowes is my second home.

We have both and use both, but Lowe's is always cleaner and has much more help - who actually do help. For a while, HD had a system in which you had to register online to get the Vet discount, but it was clumsy, stalled a lot, and demanded that you send them a copy of your DD214 or similar proof. Privacy issues got that cancelled pronto. They went back to simply asking for your vet ID.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

same here Brooks, one of the reasons I quit shopping home depot, actually had a few cashiers get snotty with me about the discount, never have had much trouble at lowes, though a few have asked for ID, most just give it to me and say thanks for your service, most times I forget to tell them, that 10% just about covers the tax here, but every little bit helps....

Home Depot only gives military discounts for active service members and disabled vets.

    That's why I buy everything I can from Lowe's

I get the discount at HD and I'm neither active duty nor disabled. I am, however, full career military with a blue ID.

I also always get the discount at home depot. I'm neither disabled, active duty, or reserve. And I wasn't a lifer, either.

I do get VA care with a card, because of serving in a war zone. Maybe they think I'm disabled.

Home depot and local lumber yards are the only place I shop, as the nearest lowe's to my house is 70 some miles. Home depot is a couple miles from work.

Lowes has no competition in my area . Closest HD is 75 miles away. Two other lumber suppliers catering to commercial trade in town . Having no competition shows in their nonexistent customer service . Frequently popular items are out of stock. Funny thing is the next closest lowes , 25 miles away is fully stocked , cheaper prices and lots of help .

The nearest Lowes to me is an 80 mile round trip. There is a Menards about 5 miles closer and I have found Menards to be a GREAT place to shop! Even without a military discount. Wonderful service and very well stocked. They run 11% rebates all the time on everything in the store.

Our HD finally figured it out! Lowes I'm sure was the factor in them changing their policy. Now just show your veteran stamped driver's lis. or if you register with them give them your ph.#

I used to work at Lowe's............they give the military discount freely as long as you have proof of being a vet. I did not retire, I do not have a service connected disability, but I do get most of my health care through the VA and have a VA health card that works at HD too. Maybe it depends on the area.

That is definitely true. I have always wondered if these HD stores were franchises where policies like vet discounts are made individually by store owners or management. ??
