Bobcat attacks

SW0320SW0320 Member Posts: 2,550 ✭✭✭✭

Good reason to carry every day, everywhere. This guy did not expect to have to shoot a bobcat. Watch him after he heaves the bobcat and takes a pistol out of his jacket pocket.

Ignore video of bobcat chasing squirel. Go down to video below. Warning strong language near the end.

Was that bobcat attacking a cougar?

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

...Lucky is wasn't worse. With both having had to undergo all those Rabies shots was bad enough w/o having your ears bit off or eye clawed out too....😲

good for him had to be a scary few seconds . but glad it worked out for them

I went to the internet to watch it ( tried is a better word ) a lot of the national news and most sponsored showed articles that came up doing a search show the wife and then the fellow toss the cat , just as you see his hand slide under his jacket ( for the gun ) its cuts away to the news and the interviews even cut out when he starts to say any thing about shooting it

JMHO they cant have some one carrying a gun defend them self even against a rabid bobcat

that would go against there ant-gun agenda

Nasty Bobcats. They will kill deer and when walking to a tree stand when still dark.. shoulder the rifle and have handgun in hand.

Had this Bobcat stalking my backyard bird feeders last fall.

He didn't have any luck. I like having them around. Hear them frequently at night.

    Well that was chaotic.

I would like to think I could have drawn and got a hit after throwing the cat, but really hard to say with the random neighbor charging in.

Yeah, random kids running around made that VERY problematic.

A shotgun and it could have been cat skeet

Besides rabies, I know that couple had to get loaded up with antibiotics. I had a pet cat, the little guy was my buddy but, one day he got scared by the dog, I was trying to pet the cat and he bit me on the knuckle of the forefinger of the right hand.

Fangs only went in about 1/10 of an inch and then hit bone. I thought nothing of it.

Three days later I noticed it was red for about 2 inch diameter, and swelling some. I went up to the doc and he loaded me up on antibiotics. He said these infections follow the tendons, and move down towards the finger nail and up towards the elbow. And he said that, if I had waited one more day to come in, I would have been sent to the big hospital for some nasty surgery with a 10 inch incision from the finger nail up past the wrist.

He said, wait 2 more days and I would have been facing amputation of the hand. Doc told me that cat bites are the nastiest. Followed by human bites and number 3 is dog bites.

It is scary to think of the damage that little 20 pound bobcat could do to a man. If the man decided he had to kill the cat with bare hands he could do it, he could strangle that cat, but before the cat died he would put the man in the hospital for some extensive surgery.

I knew you'd have a tale to share and you did not disappoint.

Coincidentally, I got bitten by a dog a week ago and the same thing happened. Red streaks running up my hand after just one day. Had to go to the doc and get antibiotics.
