Any thoughts on the introduction of the new Python and Anaconda. Is this going to affect the price of the older models that I have?
Comments
Since the Python has been out for a while and supposedly going to quit production? again, NO, your older ones are still rock solid, imo. Check the advanced auction for sold Pythons and see that they still bring good coin.
Where can I find the information on Colt stopping production on the Python? Why would they stop producing a product that actually has some demand? CZ acquired Colt in February and Colt announced the new Anaconda near the end of March. Sounds to me that CZ is keeping and expanding the Colt revolver line. Of course Colt is famous for not being managed well so anything is possible. Bob
Guess, I read it I think here or in A.R. ?BUT I could very well be mistaken. Or maybe it was Zanders Wholesale when I picked up an order for my local GS. Most likely wrong and now my feelings are hurt and offended for being wrong.😥
Anyway, I believe my other info would be correct and the value of his "Python collection."
I agree wholeheartedly with you about the answer to the value question. I hope you can recover from being hurt and offended because that wasn't my intent. There have been so many rumors this past 2 months or so about Colt that I was hoping that you could clear up some of my confusion. If anyone else reads this and has a definite answer about CZs plans for Colt, I would appreciate a link to where the info can be found. Bob
Bob, I just watched Dr. Phil and now I am good. I BELIEVE it was actually a Zanders employee that was talking to me. Wholesalers get a drift, I do know that they cleared out some items that were being discontinued and with NO returns.
Colt manufacturing, for the first time in 75 years, has been purchased by people (CZ USA) that give a sh^%$t about bringing back quality and manufacturing guns people want to buy.
I for one am elated and hope they regain the status and prestige as a premier firearm manufacturer they attained prior to the Second big war.
Sold all my Pythons at the top of the market.
You can buy a Shelby Mustang at the Ford dealer today. Or you can buy a Sixties Shelby from a restorer. Which one is more desirable?
All the master smiths that hand fitted Python Parts are long gone.
I trust nothing NEW !
It will impact sales of the old ones if I can get a new Python or King Cobra for half the price of an older one. My Python and Diamondback are old, but the perhaps even better new King Cobra is a carry gun, at much less than half the price of an old one.
I think there will always be a market for the actual real-deal original old-school stuff. The number of people inhabiting that realm is getting smaller and smaller. But there's just "something" about a piece of old world technology done to breathtaking standards and maintained correctly.
