Possums eat thousands of ticks

I saw several posts about people having tick trouble and thought I'd pass this along. My son who caught Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever from a tick bite told me that possums eat a lot of ticks. I have some animus toward possums because they eat a lot of my grapes, so I didn't want to believe him. But I asked a search engine about it and sure enough a lot of authorities say they do. Now I'm putting the household garbage in a good spot to attract possums and cut down on ticks around the house and barnyard.

Problem is there are millions of ticks! Don
That's why we have a possum festival in our town, but this year, less possums, more ticks. A possum will eat a pound of ticks but it takes 50,000 ticks to make a pound.
...I knew they were nasty for a reason...see 'em all the time around here...usually raiding garbage...they sure have a mouthful of pointy teeth...armadillos are a lot friendlier...
Ticks? What the heck are ticks? Is that like when my Rover needs a quart of oil? Possums? Ticks? I’m all cornfused.
You don't have ticks because the black flies ate them😁
They say Guinea fowl are great tick eaters as long as you can put up with their melodious songs.
If the White Socks mosquitos didn't get 'em first!
Oh don't get me started on the NoSeeUms and White Socks. Or the Sabre Tooth Mosquitos.
so they will eat garbage instead of ticks.
