I offer this link as a news item, and because I couldn't find similar coverage elsewhere.
S&W announced that they will immediately cease all production of Thompson Center products and cancel existing orders, pending sale of TC. No buyer has been found yet, however.

I note that the GB censor changed the link, per standing rules. You can search for the story or add g-u-n-s in place of the asterisk.
I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

The after market barrels, parts handguards and buttplates by Bullberry, MGM and B. Arthur has to have had a big impact on TC. I have several Encore barrels, only one a 22 Hornet rechambered to 22BR is a TC barrel.

And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
I wish TC was still owned and operated by T/ C! They had excellent lifetime replacement parts warrantee's that they actually honored. After S&W took things over it all went south.
May just be a done deal for T/C in its entirety.
I've been putting off on getting a couple extra mags for my venture rifles I guess that is no longer on the back burner
Gunbroker is owned by AMMO DOT COM not GUNS DOT COM! 😀
Makes Smif look a lot like Cerberus.
TC has not been the same quality as they were before being bought by S&W. I hope they can find a good buyer who will return them to what they were
Hopefully someone will buy them
Reckon it's the end of Thompson/Center?
Hope someone picks them up. I have had so many great Thompson firearms through the years. Sad if it dies, very.😐️
Some discontinued T/C guns and accessories have become collectible and valuable. If they stop production altogether, won't that elevate the value of what's here now?
I love that "loyal customers will continue to receive...blah blah blah" and then "production will cease immediately and orders will be cancelled." Kinda hard to do both, ain't it?
I never quite understood the idea of paying more for a barrel than what I could buy an entire gun for. That said I did buy several barrels back when used barrels were easy to find & much cheaper. Don't know why the used barrel market dried up quite a few years ago. At least there isn't any extra Commiefornia fees or paperwork for each new barrel. That leaves me with a .22 LR, .223, 30/30, .357 Maximum & 45/70. I've had my eye out for 16" or longer .22 mag or .17 HMR but nothing near what I would be willing to pay. The 30/30 & 45/70 are long enough to use a shoulder stock.
