Mossberg

tocamohatocamoha Member Posts: 271 ✭✭

As older guys pass on and their gun collections are dispersed more Mossberg's are appearing at estate auctions,on websites, and in LGS's. Long-time Gunbroker members will know the go to source for all things Mossberg is Vic and Cheryl Havlin at Havlin Sales 636-937-6401.Newer members should take note.

I ordered a scope mount for a Model 42M[c] from them yesterday.

I own several 10-22s, but my 'GoTo' gun is my Mossberg 46 tube-fed. It is amazingly accurate and one of the most comfortable 22 rifles I have ever shouldered.

Found it years ago on the rack at a local gun store. Someone had lost the forearm extension, the metal was a rust brown, and the muzzle was damaged. I cut the barrel off 1/2" and re-crowned it, added a forearm and Dura-Coated it in WW2 olive drab.

It might make the Mossberg collectors cringe, but it is my favorite varmit rifle.

Bought my grandson a Mossberg Patriot that outshoots many of the guns in my rack.

My Mossberg takes a horrible amount of banging around and abuse, and still does the job.

    Bear: "Rahr"

    Mossberg: "Boom"

    Bear: "Run away! Run away!"
