The kit came with a mainspring, trigger spring, and a tiny spring. What's the tiny spring for? And how in the world do you compress the mainspring to get a cross pin the hammer strut??

the diagram might help
base pin latch spring possibly. check here.

pulling the hammer back compresses the mainspring. small spring is for the cylinder pin latch, and you should install it. you will need a small flatblade screwdriver with a notch cut into the center of it to r&r the spring. go to popular video site to lern how to polish internals, this will really help.
On you tube there is a excellent video on disassembly and reassembly, helped me when I tore into my Blackhawk to change springs.
"pulling the hammer back compresses the mainspring." VARIAN: Yes, I got that. Put in a little cross pin and I'm good to go to take that assembly out of the gun. But now I have to remove the old mainspring and replace it with the Wolff.
Now, "how in the world do you compress the mainspring to get a cross pin in the hammer strut??"
you can use a small pair of needle nose pliers thru the spring coils and on either side of the strut. just compress a little, it really isn't too hard to get your disassembly pin out and back in. ive had the spring get away from me before, but have always found it.
