The sign says.
Great song.
...'So I tucked my hair up under my hat, and went in to ask him why"....
select-fire, interesting "sign".
So I took off my hat and said imagine that ... me workin for you ...
Signs, signs, everywhere a sign.
Blocking out the scenery
Breaking my mind! 😁
Sadly I am old enough to remember. Now if I could just remember what I had for lunch. Bob
From one of my all time favorite tunes !!!!
BUT it's the long haired freaky people who now refuse to work. How about that twist! LMAO
I remember because i was a long hair freaky people .. although I did like the song
but now I realize it was a early version of share the wealth take from the rich give to poor theme as signs signs every where no trespassing keep off the grass "what gives you the right ",,,,
well I paid for it keep your butt out go buy your own place
So I got me a pen and a paper, and I made up my own little sign...
said "Thank you Lord for thinkin' about me, I'm alive and doing fine"
Amen to that.
can't believe I'm the first to post the link>
Guy who grew up as my "next door neighbor" (only 2-1/2 miles away!) worked in a silver mine for a while and they all grew their hair long to keep their necks warm while underground.
He got tired of mining and moved back to Texas and got a haircut because he didn't need the long hair anymore.
Applied for job next day and got it with new boss telling him he was the first guy with short hair to apply for the job. ;)
when i was about 19 maybe 20 I had not cut my hair for 6 years .
I had a chance to get a job working construction but the superintendent I was told had a true dis like to long hair
I was making about 5.00 a hour but the new job was 12.00+ a hour + real great insurance and benefits.
so i had my hair cut it was now just about to the bottom of my ears in length ( from being way down past my shoulders )
so 1st day on the job my new boss walks up and said if you going to work for me you need t get a hair cut ... LOL
I worked with and for him for thirteen years . lot of great stories . but him telling me I needed a hair cut the first day still sticks with me
and my previous job I had since I was 16 the owner and the managers all told me to get a hair cut many times or they may have to let me go .. even back then a 5.00 a hour job was not that hard to come by so i would just hand me my check .
I am not bragging but I was too a good a worker to let go over something like having long hair , so they stopped asking / telling me to cut it . at that time all the customers that came into the store and owners called me John Denver ( he was very popular at the time ) a few actually called me by my name though .
