So over a year ago I ordered a Glock gen 5 MOS model 17. Still hasn't came in. I have a sweet Trijicon I bought after ordering the 17, which is why I wanted the MOS version. Today I'm told a gen 5 MOS Glock 45 has came in. Not being up on Glock models, I said I want a 9 not a 45! 😂
It seems the only difference between the 17 and the 45 is a half inch of barrel length but the model 45 looks smaller than that just eyeballing it.
So what say you GB Glock people?? Is the half inch less noticeable when shooting it?? To me it seems like not much difference but I have been known to be wrong occasionally. 😁 Thoughts.

They all look alike to me.
I believe that size doesn't matter. Don
That's just what they tell you😁
I don’t own one, but they have a big following.
I will probably get one next time I win a Glock, that or a 10mm and if/when I do it will be the MOS model and I’ll put a Trijicon on top.
Not sure about the 17, but the MOS sure made it easy for a Leupold DPP on my model 40.
The 45 and the 19 have the same barrel length but the 45 is built on a 17 sized frame. You get a slightly longer grip and 2 more rounds than the 19 holds.
Check Glocks website and you can compare them.

Not a Gloke guy, my advise, buy something else. H&K, Springfield, Sig...
I am somewhat neutral on Glocks. I will not sing the praises of Glocks nor be a detractor of Glocks. Glocks seem to do the number one thing I ask of any handgun. When I pull the trigger they go bang. I have had two Glock 35s, if that is the 40 caliber. (Memory issues are a female dog!) Never had either jam. Accuracy was very acceptable. I never had any complaint about anything. I also never once was real proud of what I had in my hand. Good looking and Glock have never appeared in the same sentence!!! 🤣
I guess having a Glock is kind of like being with a less than attractive woman. Turn out the lights and she is AOK. 😂
So did you go buy it?
", I said I want a 9 not a 45!"................son, you have problems 🤨
I've got all the 10mm versions (29, 20, and 40 MOS). They are great tools. I don't think the 1/2" difference would matter to the standard sized guns. However, if going for a CCW, then that extra length becomes more noticeable.
Get them both. Problem solved.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Mike W, I remember fondly my 45 ACP comp gun but getting old is a female dog. My hands/wrists can't handle recoil anymore so yes I have problems. At this point the problems are solved with 9 rather than 45. If I live long enough that I can't handle 9s I have no problems with 22 LR.
Neo, filled out the paperwork about an hour ago.
You realize this will require a full and detailed range report, don't you? Did they throw in a box of ammo for it?
I will be dropping off the sight to be mounted today or tomorrow. It will probably be ready next week. The concept of actually shooting with this sight gets me all excited. I've heard great things about Trijicon.
I hope they don't charge you for mounting the optic, the MOS is as simple as it gets....
If I could make a suggestion on mounting the optic- I REALLY prefer the C&H Precision Weapons mounting plates over the stock Glock mounting plates.
It is a much higher quality item than the factory Glock piece. If you are going to be hard on the gun (as I am competitively shooting USPSA) , I would consider this upgrade mandatory.
I know- it is expensive, but I can’t afford to have anything on my gun put me out of a match
