Stray Dog in the Neighborhood

This dog showed up 8 days ago at an uninhabited house. This is out in the country about a mile away from where I live near Marshall, NC. I have been going by there every day to feed this dog. I would say about 55 pounds and a young dog about 1 year old. Very affectionate dog.
I have put him on our little neighborhood web site, Next Door Little Pine, hoping someone will adopt him but no takers so far.

Blue Tick.
Good boy!
I think you have been adopted! I hope you are very happy together.😊 Bob
What a handsome boy. If you decide to keep him I'll buy the first 6 months of kibble. He looks like he could use someone scratching his belly.
The dog was rescued at 2:30 today. A guy on the Little Pine forum drove 20 miles to check up on the dog and feed him, he wasn't planning to take the dog with him but just to assess the stray little mutt.
He fed the doggie a can of food and in about 60 seconds the dog had won his heart. He opened the car door and the dog jumped right in and he is headed for his new home.
Awwwwwwww man.... that's good news.
Now scuze me... I got something in my eye.
he got a real buddy there....good deed...thanks
That's how we got our last dog. She showed up at a roadside vegetable stand near our house. The owner couldn't take her, and was afraid she would get hit by a car on the busy highway. My wife told me go look at her, and when I got there, she immediately won my heart. She was a Malamute, and one of the smartest and most loving pets we ever had. Lost her after 10 years to cancer. She's buried out behind the house with a nice granite headstone.
I sure as hell wish people would take responsibility for their pets. NO excuse for what's going on with so many stranded pets out there.
Happy ending! Dandy looking dog right there.
This dog is so sweet and affectionate. I would have taken him in but the Princess Beagle doesn't play well with the other dogs. The guy who rescued the doggie said he thinks the dog is even younger than a year, thinks maybe 7 months.
My girlfriend just loves this dog and she was joking, said we ought to take this stray dog and dump the Beagle down there at the abandoned house.
I met a lady with a dog today who said she and a couple friends stole him.
He is seven years old about the size of a retriever. But when she stole him, he was chained up and about 35 pounds with heartworm and other issues.
She didn't seem ashamed at all and the dog looks happy now. Happy ending.
Great ending to a heartwarming tail 😆.
Nice........cute dog.
I just talked to the new dog owner. The landlord will let them keep the dog. In fact the dog slept in the bed with the lady last night.
They took the mutt to the police station to get scanned, no chip. The sergeant at the desk told them, if they didn't want the dog that he would take it.
I read recently that animal shelters are becoming jam packed with the returns of dogs and cats that people adopted during the shutdown. Now that they have fulfilled their purpose of loving and comforting during the pandemic, they are being discarded as people go back to work. Have I ever mentioned how I think a lot of people just plain suck! Bob
I need a dog like that to adopt me...........fantastic story and outcoe.
Happy outcomes are good.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Looks like a blue tick/lab mix.He will be a good one.
Will be a glad owner
Not to throw cold water on a nice story, but....
.....you don't want to bring any stray animal into you home before you take it to a vet to be scanned, examined, & vaccinated. You don't want to expose your family/pets to something that will cause you to regret your generosity.

May have blue heeler in it.
Great looking critter, great ending! Thank you Allen, and thanks to the adopting folks.
What a cutie pie! You are too sweet for taking an active part in helping it out.
Allen, you are a big hearted man for making sure that dog found a good home.
Most would turn a blind eye, bless your heart man.
