Comments
I remember carrot shavings jello.
I don't remember liking it
Grapes were better.
Grandma made it and I liked it.....until I was old enough to find something better
Did we like it or did we prefer not sitting on a sore butt?? 😁
or a knot on the back of your head
Yes, I remember it.
I remember it well, didn't care for the carrots or mini marshmallows.
Jello was a staple, occasional can of fruit cocktail.
Miracle whip sammiches were pretty tasty to.
lime jello with pear halves... cherry jello with fruit cocktail... orange jello with shaved carrots... orange jello with mandarin slices you name it we had jello
Never very popular in my house . Chocolate pudding was our go to .
same here except exchange kraft sandwich spread for the miracle whip .. ate hundreds of just two slice's of bread with a spoon full of sandwich spread rare occasion toss in a piece of cheese , oh don't leave out kool aid cheapest thing to give all us kids on a hot summer day next to water .
I would thought I would be burned out on the sandwiches however I still eat just a sandwich spread sandwich several times a month with a glass of milk as a late night snack .
School served it. I didn't like it.
I'm a purist when it comes to Jello, I don't like anything "in" it. A big reason a lot of folks (myself included) like Jello is the texture, putting stuff in it alters the balance of the universe and should be avoided.
How about plain yogurt (sour) with powdered grape jello sprinkled on it. Dang. Yummy
Had jello with all the above in it but my mom put pineapple chunks and or bananas in it most often.
As a matter of fact I never had plain jello until I did a couple over nighters in the hospital.
My MIL made this really good layered jello "casserole" every holiday. Strawberry jello with strawberry halfs in it along with chopped walnuts and pineapple pieces. That mix was on the bottom of the big glass casserole dish then a layer of sour cream in the middle with the same jello mix on top as the bottom. Cut into squares and served with deserts. Dang that stuff was good!!
You guys have it all wrong. I could go through a row of dad's carrots faster than two woodchucks in competition. Yank a half dozen and head for the water pump. Never much cared for Jello.
i got head cheese😕
I remember and did not care much for it, but we ate what what put in front of us or we went hungry...
I still don't like it.
I had it. I have no idea what possessed anyone to put carrot shavings in it.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Pass on Jello. Pudding yes..not the other
I remember that, plus many jello salads made during the holidays back in the 70's............it was a "thing" back then.
