One of my neighbors has an old, bone stock, rust free Willys pickup like in the picture. It rides so rough that about 5 miles of back roads makes old guys feel like you have been worked over by a baseball bat.

My late dad bought 2 Willis trucks (or perhaps wagons) when he came home from WW2 and opened an appliance store in 1947. They were nothing but trouble and traded them in for 2 new Dodge panels in 1948. Wish I had either now!

It's too late for me, save yourself.

So, that front seat doesn't fold forward? You have to climb up the fender to get in the back seat? I'm talking about the jeepsters up on top.

    "Whatchu talkin bout Willis?"

Sorry, but you knew someone was going to say it.😊

Back before WW2, my dad worked for Willys-Overland before he enlisted. I don't recall him making any positive comments either about his work there or his use of their product during the war. Good for a general to ride around in but not as useful to the average joe. Bob

The issue with those old vehicles is lack of room for bigger people. Back then a guy 5'7" was about average. Today, not so much. I can't get into some of the older vehicles there is not enuf headroom for me to fit.

learned to drive in pops '61 pickup

flathead 6, like mentioned short on leg room, but the thing was a tank !

buried axle deep in mud and clay, play the clutch and rock it it would work itself out.

trees up to about 3" ? drive over em, they would sometimes lift the front end, but the jeep always won

firewood loaded several feet above the top of the cab and it just walked away

on the highway, the low gearing screamed like it was about to fly apart, and mileage was always piss poor

    wish i still had it

noticed that step on both the lower vehicles, gotta wonder if there is a convertable top how would you get in and out of backseats??????

What makes you think the seats wouldn't fold forward to allow access to the rear seat?? Don't most two door cars have folding seats??

I had a red Jeepster for a while, it was a great beach car for here as we can drive on the beach.
