maybe he's a friend of forge, he can fix anything,,,,,,,, but stupid
His finger is about to win the Darwin Award
😀
Why?
His gun . Just don't try that with one of mine. A big left hook is libel to fly off and break a rib.
Poor choice of weapons in a firefight.
😕
He says it's to demonstrate that all the recoil spring does is return the slide to battery after firing, and that it should more properly called an "action spring."
Looks to me like the receiver rails are chewed up. Not unexpected with soft steel.
You can get away with stuff like this for a while, but, eventually, failure from abuse might just catch up to you. Just imagine how foolish you would feel, lying on your back in the Emergency Room while the doctor sews the * in the middle of your forehead.

So if all the spring is to return the slide, where does the energy come from to compress the spring so it can do it's job? By absorbing energy from the recoiling slide of course.
That is very interesting and bears further investigation, when I get around to it.
...Uhhh...no...I like my 1911's just as they are, clean, all the parts and working fine...I like my face as it is too...
That ol' kids dumber than a box of rocks. Dumb rocks.
My S&W 34-1 works fine without a recoil spring. 😜
