Not sure what happened on the 1911 thread but our postings disappeared.
As I stated I am a bit of a novice concerning the 1911. I only have one and that is a Gold Cup I have had for almost 40 years. It works like I want it to so I have never made any changes to it. My question for you is about the use of full length guide rods like the guy has in his video. Are there any real benefits with a full length guide rod or is it a solution looking for a problem to fix? Does it help with reliability, accuracy or maybe adding weight helps recoil? I have no opinion on the matter because I don't have the experience you and others have so I could use some education on the subject. Bob

I carried a 1911 for many years, some with full length rod and some not. Based on a lot of practical experience, I'd give the full length rod version the edge for accuracy and reliability. But the short rod version is easier to disassemble and clean.
