Anyone else follow the fishing ? Since Morehead city is down road a piece i have followed it for years . Drove down and stayed for a while this afternoon . The boat Widespread ,was on the way in with a marlin .They docked at 10:30 . Fish weighed 656.5 to take the lead . One day of fishing left . If their lead holds up they win a little over $1,650,000. Angler who boated the fish is 19 .

Ah you brought back a memory from 1969. While serving in Viet Nam, when I became eligible for my first R&R I chose to go to Hawaii. Even as a young boy I always enjoyed fishing so I decided to charter a boat and go out for an entire day of Marlin fishing. 12 miles out of Honolulu we hooked one. It took me 3 1/2hrs to get that fish to the boat and it weighed a little over 400lbs. An experience of my life time never to be forgotten. Found and attached the only existing photo of the fish. As they say, It didn't happen without pics.

Beaufort Inlet will be crazy when those guys are going out and coming back in. Mornings are the worst. Shark Island area will not be busy with those guys though. That is where I would plan to be next weekend if it were not for the Wilmington gun show....have to work.
