Has anyone here used Brownell's Aluma-Hyde spray. Is it like the stuff the Military uses or used call solid film, a kind paint but really tough.

I would say it's pretty much equal with Duracoat. The important thing is prep and following instructions to a T. You can air cure (2 weeks)or oven cure. I have only used the black Aluma-Hyde II on a in the white 80% lower. From info I have read they both hold up pretty good.
It's good stuff got a couple of my AR's painted with it and it holds up real well. I wouldn't hesitate to use it on almost anything.
I have not. Hope this helps.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

Thanks for the replys. I am going to use it on a ratty shotgun I have. I think I will try a make it look parkerized.
Brownell's has vids on prep, application and curing. Good luck.
I have watched them and they are very informative.
I used that product several times. Air dried hanging above a wood furnace. Not the best idea but it did produce a fairly uniform and reasonably tough surface.
