IRS Refund System Broken?

I never received the $600 second stimulus or the letter from the White House but my wife did (by check and USPS) which was very puzzling. After a great deal of research I found out there was a glitch in the system and i was forced to take a credit on my 1040-SR return which I mailed on March 22nd.

I keep trying on the IRS's Get Refund Application and it keeps telling me that no information is available. I know I should probably file electronically but I have always done my tax returns on paper and make a copy with no problems. I Have not received a notice of overdue. They owe me $272 which I could care less about but i would like to at least know they received my tax return. They claim a paper return should take about six weeks but other things could delay a refund.

In desperation I even set up a account with the IRS hoping it would show the status of my 2020 return with no luck. Everything on my account is correct, The 2nd stimulus for $600 shows as "0" but no info on my 2020 return.

In the IRS"s info they say do not send a second return. They also say updated June 15,2021 "As of June 5th,2021, we had 18.2 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline." I am thinking perhaps the Recovery Rebate Credit slowed my return down or it never made it to Kansas City, Mo.

About three months ago I guess, I purchased a shotgun from seller in CT and it went to MO and back again to NY. Took over a month for me to get the firearm. Seller wrote a great feedback about my patience. I honestly don't know what to think. I know my patience is growing very thin with the IRS.

Any words of wisdom from you guys and gals. Thank you.--------------------------------Ray
