Tell me about your drone.

Surely some of you folks have a drone that you fly? Now that I've got a little property to play on I'm thinking a drone with a decent camera would be a handy thing to have.
What type do you recommend? I know next to nothing about them and don't have a smart phone so one with a non-phone controller would be nice.

The ones I've helped buy all belong to our military.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
I got a cheap Harbor Freight one. Lost on first try. Got another one. Its not one to get but still pretty good. Get the smartphone it works well with whatever one. My friend got me interested. His is much better, especially the camera
I bought one about five years ago. I can barely get it up in the air but I am exceptional at getting it down! Don
Son has a "commercial drone" pilot's license as work requirement. He practices by doing crop scouting runs over our fields. Pretty darned impressive the way the little thing can zoom off to a pre-selected location, take pictures in a 360* rotation, and return by a different route.
It's way beyond the "fun toy" level in both capabilities and cost. Uses a smart phone as the screen and sends pictures/video directly to the phone.
I have a DJI Mavric.
Pros: Takes stunning 4K video at 30 frames/sec. Stays put unless you move it, wind is not a factor. It returns to home as it was set up to do and lands in the center of the landing pad with one touch of a button, or loss of signal, or low battery. It will not run into obstacles it can see in 3 directions.
Cons: DJI software sucks, most of the time it will not let me fly in my back yard, Controller loses communication with drone on a regular basis. Will never buy another DJI.

My wife resents being called a drone so I can't really tell you about her...🤣
My drone just keeps talking.............she won't shut up. Does that count?
I got one for Christmas two years ago. Took it out in the yard in the spring to see if I could fly it. It was awful! Neighbor kid came over said he could fly it. He had a big smile on his face as he took it home.
I find that about 1 1/2 OZ of #6 shot is just about right for drones.
If you care that is a violation of FCC regs.

Son has the dji mavric . So far i have not seen him having any problems with his .
Wife's 70 Mustang has turbo mufflers and drones pretty bad at about 45 mph. I have a full flowmaster system on my 72 Chevelle and it never causes drone issues.
Hope this helps.
One of my neighbors had one that was used to spy on us when we first moved here. Our place has a hot tub and I noticed the strange buzzing sounds I always heard when me and the wife were soaking in the tub. Just by utter strange luck a day or so later I found a downed drone that had crashed on the edge of the woods on my lawn.
That ole notion of "Finders Keepers" still works for me here in the 21st century!
