Hello
I recently purchased a Mossberg 500 with a jar of parts.
Can't figure out what this one does or belongs to.
Any insight or thoughts?

stock bushing between the receiver and the butt stock
Perfect and appreciate your help ☺☺☺
I have not seen this part on a Mossberg 500 but have seen it on Remington shotguns (1100, 1187 etc. and Remington rifles (740, 742, etc.) identified as a stock bearing plate.
Gunswapper ...........nailed it, remington part
Morning and sure appreciate the update and correction.
take care and thanks very much for the help
☺☺☺
Not exclusive to Remington, Mossberg and others use it on various models. Stock bearing plate, recoil plate, etc. Depends which maker. Made in different thickness to space the edge of a wood stock a few thousandths, so recoil doesn't chip the edged. Beretta and some others make a version that's thicker at the top, or the bottom, to adjust stock drop to the shooter.
Thanks again my friend for the informative update ☺☺
