Dodge Ram A pillar grab handle.....
(2002-2009)
Was getting in the truck using the grab handle and the darn thing broke. I mean came completely off the pillar, the entire mold trim with handle. Turns out the post of the handle that bolts to the pillar is plastic.
In a search on the net for a new pillar trim mold I found this is/was a common problem and even led to numerous lawsuits. Well I found many sources for the new part and prices all over .
I then seen a item listed as new product. It is a grab handle repair kit. It is two metal sleeves (CNC Alum.) to fit outside and inside the plastic post thus creating a metal mounting post behind the grab handle. The cost was $25.99 so I ordered 2 sets. The kits arrived today and I already replaced the drivers side. Man what a difference. That grab handle is stout with NO flex or movement of the handle or trim unlike before. Yes, the trim mold and handle are still plastic in itself and probably still subject to break at some point. But I really feel this kit is a great idea. Just my 2 cents, may help one of you.

Grab handles? We don't need no stinkin grab handles!😉
you will,,,
You might want to loose some weight Joe.😁😁😁
I have those handles mounted on both sides but they are up high over the top of the doors. Tonight about 8:30 some * ran a stop light and hit my van so hard my head rammed into that hard handle. It dazed me and now I have a very large bump on the top of my head that seems to be growing. My van is totaled and I think I will have to make a trip to the emergency room in the morning. Man I hate to loose that van. She was a good one.
Oh no!! I'm sorry. Any doubt on being ok,go get checked out.
Good intel for someone Joe... did it happen to come with an accessory rail?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Keep looking at the YouTube videos, I found one that shows some gas line fitting that you cut the nipple off of and it was metal to metal fix for less than $10. And I'm mechanically challenged.
