on new vehicles, yesterday drove by toyota and they hardly had a car/truck or suv new on the lot, think there were 3. on up road ford had about 8-10 trucks about the same cars /suvs. chevy dealer had 5 new trucks, no suvs, mitsibushi lot only had 2 suvs on whole lot! BUT the dodge dealer had lot full of trucks at least 20-30 and backside full of cars, they must get their chips from somewhere else, or people here in town dislike dodge vehicles as much as me............

Dodge started producing their trucks WITHOUT the chips. The chips control the auto shut off at park and downgrade from 8 cylinders to 4 or 6. They are selling trucks without all that mess, so thats why they have NEW ones for sale.
Drove by the Ford and also the GM dealers the other day when I went to "town" in Decatur and their lots that used to be full of trucks are mighty thin... I didn't count em but probably less than 20 each if that and there used to be several hundred or so...
We were driving around Columbia MO yesterday and drove past I believe the largest Ford dealer in central MO. Usually there are 3-4 hundred Ford trucks in every size and color. There were less than 40 on the whole lot.
yea but were they NEW trucks/suvs? A lot of dealerships around here are full too, but they are full of used vehicles. Very few new trucks/suvs on the lots.
Had dinner last night with some friends who were asking me about our vehicles. After the 4th or 5th question it dawned on me that they are thinking of getting a new SUV. I gently informed them that their timing wasn't very good. Because of the new vehicle (chip) shortage what few vehicles that are available are going for at least list price. Then I explained that used vehicle prices were up at least 25% over normal prices. I think they are going to wait a bit and hope things get back to what passes for normal nowadays. Bob
Decatur IL?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Tell me how all these new trucks are making it over to all of these "empty" lots......are they driven or hauled over ?

Speaking of trucks and chips, I had to sweep a ton out of the back after a day of this.
Chief Shaway no sir, Decatur, Texas
Wife & I went to Subaru dealer in Ashville, NC this past Tuesday. They had 4 new on the lot, non of which she liked. While standing there talking a new Outback still covered in plastic came in for delivery. We bought it before it was unloaded.
Same here in goldsboro NC . Largest ford dealer in area has a lot full of used ,2016 to 2020 , off lease and sales trucks .2 new 2021 on lot.
No New Cars???? Oh the horror!!! Gee what will everybody do without a six hundred dollar car payment??
I can't speak for everybody else, but I can assure you, I make no payments to anyone. Pay cash in full or do wihout.
😀
+1
Also there are about a million workers depending on the production and sales of new vehicles. It is a shame their livelihood is in jeopardy because we are to stupid/lazy/ greedy to produce vital components here in the U.S. Bob
LOL, $600 is cheap compared to what most people pay. Most I talk to are $1,100-1,500 a month. Absolutely crazy! I'm ready for the NEW vehicles to roll in so I can get a good price on a used expedition, time to upgrade from the 03(not hurt just want one with heated seats and remote start).
