1953 Power Wagon

It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

I drove one of them power wagons in my teen years on a ranch hauling big loads of cattle feed to stationery feeders in rough mountains. Had the big pto winch on the front. All dirt roads. Don't think the vec ever seen any paved roads. Crusing speed on a good straight dirt road was maybe 30mph. That rig was tougher than the energizer bunny.

That winch would lift the vec. Front bumper was stronger than the one in the pic.

Metal on that Power Wagon rig was about 1/8 inch thick.

Everything built like a tank. Put a teenager in one of the new 4x4's of today (that you see bragged about now days that are in the $60k range) and send them to the mountains where the road is just a trail through brush and steep rocky hills more like driving up a gully wash and see how long a new modern times vec's lasts.

I have a 1974 and it rides like a stone boat I can imagine what that one rides like. But it is a nice looking rig.
