is it really true what the VP says; that you cant or aren't capable of making a copy of your ID.

I do believe she's wrong on both counts.

Personally I think with a stone tablet and a chisel I might be able to make a reasonable facsimile. Of course it may take a while because I'll have to do it by candlelight.😀 Bob

She did make a comment. It wasn't quite what it's been made out to be. She basically said, without quoting, people without convenient access to a copier, such as people in rural area, would have a hard time making copies of their I.D. to send in with their ballot. Then she mention something along the line of there not being a Kinkos on the corner. Yes she is out of touch but like most things it's been over blown.

I would suspect that 99.9% of the folks inside the beltway have no clue about living in the real world.

Had a older fellow in the area that when he went to political meetings would always that "them folks out in the country don't have enough sense to know what they want". Sound familiar?

i don’t know how I drive out in rural Amerika with no multifunction printer or license bureau that I need to go to every 4 years for a renewal. Somehow the tax bills seem to show up and get paid though. Quite odd!

Clueless bimbo needs to stuff a sock in it (though a brick up her * might be just as beneficial).

Belay that last. She already looks like she's got a brick up,,,,

I'm about as tech savvy as a chimp with a stick, but know full well how to scan/print a copy of my DL. On the off chance my all in one is on the fritz or out of ink I do have sense enough to go to the city library and use theirs.

another POS spouting horse hooey always looking for any reason to allow the chosen ones a way to get more vote's for them .

JMHO funny in the governor recalls every vote has to be backed up with photo Id documentation your legal citizen of the state of legal age and allowed to vote by law ( and a note from your Mom ) and verified to even try too get the sorry slithering politician's out of office

but being voted in OMG no problem just have a name , you don't even have to be alive or a citizen ( as long as your voting for the democrat or there using your name )

creepy Joe and Ho are just proof how far down the crapper we have went as a country

    Scout5,

We don't have to paraphrase, and we should probably avoid using the term "over blown" in a discussion about the promiscuous vp. We can, however, read her actual, ridiculous statement.

"“I don’t think that we should underestimate what [compromising on voter ID] could mean,” Harris emphasized in an interview with BET News. “Because in some people’s mind[s], that means, well, you’re going to have to Xerox or photocopy your ID to send it in to prove that you are who you are. Well, there are a whole lot of people, especially people who live in rural communities, who don’t — there’s no Kinkos, there’s no OfficeMax near them.”

“People have to understand that when we’re talking about voter ID laws, be clear about who you have in mind and what would be required of them to prove who they are,” Harris continued. “Of course people have to prove who they are, but not in a way that makes it almost impossible for them to prove who they are.”

The only other public figures who speak in such disjointed, incomprehensible sentences are Addled Obtuse Cortex and Beijing Biden. OK, can't forget Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi. Harris must have been a GREAT liewyer with such a command of the spoken word.

I am in a Rural area and I have 2 printers with a copy/scan function in my house not to mention my phone. The Library isn't too far away(12 miles).

Camela is an idiot, but the problem is she thinks she is smart and everyone around her has told her she is for so long she believes it now. I doubt she could even make a copy on her own if she had to.

yes they harp on and on about how hard it is to get ID, yet these same folks won't do anything about the new REAL ID, without it you won't be able to go on airplanes or into federal buildings, basically they are mandating you get it, but still don't need ID to vote, wortheless hypocrytes..................

CLUELESS and grabbing at straws to ensure the continuance of unrestricted voter fraud.

Typical large farm operation has more technology than most high tech businesses did 10 years ago. Many farmers carry both smart phone and iPAD in the tractor cab.

Yes, there are some rural residents who don't have access to personal printers and such but I can't think of any place in the MidWest that doesn't provide such access to residents through libraries/county offices/cooperative businesses. I think the citizens who are claimed to not be able to copy their ID are the ones who show up in "agency offices" frequently so getting a copy shouldn't be difficult regardless.

I may not be quite the 'typical senior citizen' since I'm still working for a Federal agency but I have in front of me at this moment--a desktop computer, 2 iPADS, a printer/scanner/fax combo, and a smartphone. Given a bit of time and good fortune, I can come up with a way to transmit a copy of most anything to anywhere on the planet(and I consider myself somewhat computer challenged).

Hippocratic drivel. The administration ran on the premise of unity. I'm absolutely shocked at the division being created.

"Harris emphasized in an interview with BET News."

That sentence says all you need to know about her comments. She's just pandering to her homies.

Apparently she doesn't believe we rural folks are capable of showing up in person and voting at an actual polling place. When I do that I can and willingly do just SHOW someone my ID.

  • bambihunterbambihunter Member Posts: 10,792 ✭✭✭✭

Here in Oklahoma, we have to have our absentee ballots notarized. Even with that, I have voted that way for a long time. I started it to miss less work and wait less in the lines. What I found was that I really loved having the ballot ahead of time so I can take my time and thoroughly research every one. Sure, the info was out there, but this way I could research, and mark as I go. I don't plan to ever go back.

Do I love absentee voting? Yes! Do I also think we need tight policies to prevent voter fraud. Yes again!

Typical elitism... not clue one in the world what goes on outside of their mansion.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Rural Americans burn Kamala Harris at the stake after she presented them with a photocopy machine. One cried out "She is trying to steal the soul of our documents! Burn her!!"

Sometimes our county is in a red flag alert...No fires outside... so sending smoke signals get difficult using the grill.

  • asphalt cowboyasphalt cowboy Member Posts: 8,904 ✭✭✭✭

Could push on her nose to see if she hisses. Not very scientific, and not always accurate. Lack of a hiss could be low pressure.

I wonder if she realizes not many of us "people who live in rural communities" voted for her.

Yeah, that's scary but I don't think joe will last until 2024. My bet still is Labor Day 2021. I live just outside of a town of about 500. So yes, Butchdog2 we have country boys here and that's the main reason I moved from Indy in 1982. After all these years I'm considered now as a honorary country boy!

I'm almost sure that what she means is that those of us who live in conservative states only vote once, compared to commielibbieleftists who vote via a copy machine and hand in hundreds of ballots each.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.
