well IF I was back in my 20's , 30's , 40's maybe even into my 50's I would have taken you up on your bet in a heart beat , but now in my mid 60's I know there is no way i could heave that up there and i did say in my 1st post ( your way sure worked ) but then others started jumping on my backside about what or how i posted and I was in a pissed off mood any way so ya I got a little annoyed and it probably showed in how I posted, sorry about that
and to be clear when I read your post you never said a darn thing about needing a cart to get the roll into the room ,, you wrote ( "It took about an hour to construct the ramps and supports and all of 10 minutes to get the carpet up there once I started moving it." ) which to me makes it sound like you just carried the roll into the room and started it up your home made ramp , IF I would have known you needed a cart to get the roll into the house , then I would have known there was no way, you where just going to heave the roll up onto the upstairs landing ,, it was your own omission in your story, that brought about the replies I posted

Well, I did have the 2x6 left over from another project but I did have to hit Homies for the 2x4's and oak dowels. I think I'm into it for about $30.
