Helping a friend determine value of a Colt Frontier Six Shooter

We have figured out the year it was produced....where are the serial numbers we need to match up to see if the firearm is original

    If you are asking where on the gun you will find the serial number for an older Colt FSS, look on the bottom of the grip frame and on the underside of the frame and the front of the trigger guard (these two are near eachother). The last few digits of the serial number may also be found scratched on the inside of the grips, if two-piece, or written in India ink in the back channel between the two halves of one-piece grips.
