Game pic question and twins (deer)

I was lucky to get a good pic of the twins that are roaming the farm. Also have a pic with a question. First pic the young buck had a spot on his rump. Second pic there are two parallel spots and now I am wondering if he might have an arrow stuck through his hams? What say you?

I think you are right! Very observant. An arrow way back there, it would miss the guts, it is possible that the fawn could survive.
....If you're concerned, call your local Wildlife Management and tell them of your concern...may send a Game Warden out, then show them the pic...if it's an arrow, or a bolt, the deer could still get an infection and die slowly & miserably...
I hope you can get more photos of this deer. He has a mark on his right leg above the knee that looks similar. It could be some kind of giant black fly, or else a birthmark rather that a spot where an arrow hit. Hard to tell.
I think those are horse flies.
I agree, looks like Horse Flies or something similar.
If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!
I can see the wings and legs
Big flies of some kind.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Most likely deer flies. Don
with the fuel shortage, how can they fly?????????
Could be some big ole horse flies. Will try to get more pics later.
Red bull! Don
Looks like the deer is grounded to me.

Sure looks like a pass through shot to me. I'd say a really crappy shot from a firearm.
Horseflies
Two flies. Just a coincidence that they happen to land almost exactly opposite.
One on leg does look like horse fly. Two on rump looks like a pass thru but should have more damage on one side? One on right looks festered? --------------------Ray
I want to know how you took a picture next year. Time travel?
Joe
I say BOTH. It looks like open(almost healed) sores with a horsefly on it.
Either way it is an astute observation Susie. It sort of looks like a pass through shot, could be with an arrow but also could be with a gun. Shot through the butt like that a deer could survive. However it could be a big bug or two. Very interesting.
Thank you. Few weeks ago my brother caught a guy at the edge of the woods, inside our fence. Perhaps we had a poacher.
Yep. Lol. Didn't update camera after I put in new batteries.
