Wife called our local pizza joint to order pizzas. The call was answered by an answering service who does take your order but passes on that you called. She held on the line for awhile and became disconnected due to no one available to answer the phone at the pizza joint. Unreal.
She's driving to one of the other places in attempt to order in person.

My wife has been recovering from hip replacement and wanted a big steak and all the fixins' from Logan's or wherever. (Logan's is really convenient) I dropped her off at the door and she hobbled in with a walker. The frazzled haywired manager met her and a couple others coming in and explained they only had two servers, can't really take any more customers. My wife asked "could we just sit IN the bar". The answer was yes but.............there is no one to serve you IN the bar, so you have to sit right AT the bar, but there were no spots available.
She hobbled back out as I was coming to the front door, we went to Red Lobster for surf and turf. They had plenty of staff and the food was great.
Yep, food places around here are closed for days because they can’t get help. Except the Mexican and Chinese places. They have all their family working, including the kids.
Same here..no service sometimes... Just make your own..
I expect to hear a real person…that I know by name…when I call my local place. That’s why I pay a premium.
My son told me he went to a taco bell....closed...they can't find help.
Then he went to a burger king....closed....they can't find help.
He went home and fixed himself something to eat.
We will see what happens when the moratorium on evictions runs out.
dont worry all the new immigrants with get there papers soon and all will be well
EVERY place in our town needs workers but the beloved governor J.B. says we must keep the unemployment benefits gong so we "won't pull the rug out from families who are scared of getting covid IF they go to work." Bu they seem to have np problem doing anything else but work.
Hell I am thinking of doing some more volunteer work sweeping the parking lots of the fast food places.
Without checking to be precise, sometime next month the extra unemployment benefits expire. Will be interesting to see what happens then. Providing, of course, they are allowed to expire.
WE don't eat out anymore, so we aren't affected by the worker shortage. And we don't get sick from poorly cooked food either. 😁

You ain’t right, man.😁
Might be better to get an answering service than to be put on hold with crappy music playing in the background! 😮 Hold for 20 minutes until that music turns your hunger into the dry heaves and pizza will never again be on your list of cravings!
Take it home and she bakes it just the way we like it. NO burnt crust,
darn I love burnt crust but hey, all good.
PaPa Murphy's rock!!! Only problem...they are 100 miles away!!!

I agree about an answering service. We order the same thing from the same place every time and I know their wait times. So I could just leave a quick message. Instead of answering and music playing the local place just takes the phone off the hook between about 5:30 to 6:30.
