Hi all,

My buddy has an old L C Smith sxs SN 115x 12 gauge and want's any info he can get on it. What grade is it?

Barrels are nice and shiny and it is tight but I'm sure it is damascus steel so not a shooter. By sn I see it was made in 1898 if L C Smith collectors site is right.

Looks like a field grade to me but I am not an expert. With the broken forend and buttstock pad ect. there is not a lot of collector value, all imo. In the day that was a great firearm that I am sure did it's job well.
