Yuppers. Get the Brave browser. After install, click on the three "Customize" bars at the very top right. Then click Bookmarks, and then Import Bookmarks. Brave will grab them from your Firefox.

I've been using Brave now for about three months. its built-in ad and tracking blockers have stopped over 104,000 ads from appearing, for a total of 6.5 gB that were not downloaded, saving me 1.5 hours of download time.

BTW, there is now a Brave search engine in beta test. It is based on their own proprietary algorithm and is completely free of tracking. You can select it, or Duck Duck Go, or several other search engines as your default. I'm using Brave Search and like it.

The one thing I don't really like about the Brave browser is their Rewards system where you can earn "points" for watching Brave sponsored ads, and trade points for things. Fortunately, you can turn that off easily. I did so immediately.

Thanks guys. I have Brave now and it took a little work. Remember I not a young smart guy like you folks. Anyway it's up and running but will take some time to fully how to navigate.

    Thanks again,

I switched my browser to Duck Duck Go back when you recommended it, Rocky. No complaints, works just fine. Thank you.

Well I spoke too soon. When I booted up today my browser reverted to Firefox even though I was using Brave when I shutdown last night.

    😕

did you set Brave as your default browser when you installed it? I haven't used Brave but most browsers ask you as either part of the install or the first time you launch them if you want them set as default... Try starting brave and see if it asks, if not go into its settings and find the default browser setting and set it.

Duck Duck Go is a very good search engine. The way it works (or so I'm told) is that it takes your query, strips out all your personal info (such as your computer's ID and location) and runs the search through Google. On the way back, it strips out cookies and such before delivering the results to you. So you're actually using Google, but anonymously.

Qwant is another popular search engine. It works the same way, but uses Microsoft Bing instead of Google.

The new Brave search engine (don't confuse it with the Brave BROWSER) uses their own search algorithm and don't route through anybody else. So sometimes you'll get slightly different results, but just as comprehensive.
